Library hosts popular horror author for discussion event
EASTFORD — On Saturday, Sept. 19, the Eastford Public Library hosted well-known psychological horror author Paul Tremblay to the library for a discussion. Jody Blanchette interviewed Tremblay, who was a former math teacher before venturing into writing in his late 20s. Tremblay talked about his writing process, the making of one of his books, “Cabin at the End of the World,” into a 2023 M. Night Shyamalan-directed movie called “Knock at the Cabin,” starring Dave Bautista and Jonathan Groff, and how artificial intelligence has negatively impacted his craft. He then answered Jody’s rapid-fire, fun questions to finish off their time together. Attendees enjoyed a “Weekend at Bernie’s”-themed reception, which was loosely based on Paul’s latest novel, “Dead But Dreaming of Electric Sheep,” while Paul graciously signed books and spoke to guests. Julia from Book Club On the Go was the bookseller for the afternoon.
