The Pastor’s Pen
There is something special about October in New England. The changing leaves, cooler afternoons, and familiar traditions give us reasons to slow down and enjoy time together. Beyond the season’s beauty, one of the greatest blessings of living in a small community is the chance to know our neighbors.
At Eastford Baptist Church, we want to help create those opportunities. That is why we are excited to invite you and your family to our first-ever Fall Family Festival on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Join us for an afternoon of bounce houses, games, free food, trunk-or-treat, and a costume contest for children from birth through sixth grade. Whether you come with young children, bring your grandchildren, or simply want to meet your neighbors, we would love to see you. You do not have to attend our church to join the fun. This is an invitation to our whole community!
An afternoon like this offers something we all need — time together. With busy schedules and so much of life happening through screens, it is easy to live near people without really knowing them. Sharing a meal, watching our children play, and taking a few minutes to talk can start a friendship.
As Christians, we believe that loving our neighbors begins with the love God has shown us through Jesus Christ. We want that love to show in how we welcome people, care for families, and serve our town. We hope this festival gives you an opportunity to enjoy an afternoon with your family and get to know ours.
Of course, our invitation extends beyond Oct. 24. Every Sunday, we offer Bible studies for all ages at 9:15 a.m., followed by worship at 10:30 a.m., including prayer, singing, and verse-by-verse preaching from the Bible. On Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., our midweek ministries include Bible study for adults, children, and teenagers. Whether you are looking for a church home, have questions about Christianity, or simply want to get to know us, you are welcome at Eastford Baptist Church.
This October, make some time for your neighbors. Bring your family, invite a friend, and join us for our first Fall Family Festival. We look forward to meeting you!
