EBC Goes 'Down on the Farm' for Latest VBS Event

EASTFORD — Eastford Baptist Church brought the farm to its latest Vacation Bible School event Aug. 3-7, as it held its annual outreach week for more than 50 kids in grades pre-K to 6. The theme of the week was “Down on the Farm: God Gives the Growth,” which featured a weeklong curriculum based on the parables of Jesus. Kids enjoyed snacks, crafts, games, music, live animals, and giveaways, along with a “Water Night” theme night on Thursday, Aug. 6. Also featured throughout the week was the church’s annual Penny War and Food Drive to benefit the Eastford Food Pantry. This year, the children raised $700 and collected more than 300 items for the food pantry. Next year’s event has already been announced for July 26-30, 2027, and will be titled: “Hero: God to the Rescue.”
