Legislative Update
The state legislature may be out of session, but a lot of work is still being done, be it attending to constituent services, helping with municipal matters, being out and about in the towns of the Senate District, or working on items for next year’s session.
I continue to focus on affordability issues, including ways to cut property taxes by further increasing funding for public education. I helped get more state funding overall this year. I am working to get more done. By better funding these costs, we can reduce the pressure on your property taxes to keep them from rising. It is about making Connecticut more affordable for you and your family. The state can afford this without increasing taxes if it refocuses and repurposes the tax money it already has, and lets you keep your hard-earned money up front by stopping over-taxing you.
As always, please reach out to me if I can help you with a constituent matter, answer a question, or take up a concern. You can call my office at (860) 240-800, e-mail me at [email protected], check for news and sign up for my free e-newsletter at www.senatorgordon.com, or learn about what I am doing on Facebook at “Senator Jeff Gordon.” I’m proud to represent Eastford!
