Family Fun Takes Center Stage at CCE Frog Jump Event

EASTFORD — On Saturday, July 11, Crystal Pond Park was filled with the smell of hamburgers and hot dogs, the sounds of music by the East Woodstock Cornet Band and the squeals of children as they watched frogs jump. The Congregational Church of Eastford held its annual Frog Jump, Band Concert and Cookout, continuing a tradition that has endured for nearly a century. Along with the frog-jumping contest (see results below), attendees were treated to a full cookout, cotton candy, ice cream, a bounce house, swimming in Crystal Pond, and the traditional cakewalk to conclude the evening, which awarded desserts to random walkers in a musical-chairs style. For more photos of the winners of the cakewalk portion of the event, check out the Eastford Communicator Facebook page!
