Sunday, March 1

Eastford Baptist Church will host its annual Chili Cook-off Sunday, March 1, after the A.M. Worship Service. Join us for Sunday School at 9:15 a.m., worship at 10:30 a.m., then stay after for fellowship in the Family Activity Center, and enjoy a variety of chili recipes. Chilis will be judged and prizes will be awarded for the top recipes. Eastford Baptist Church is located at 133 Union Rd., Eastford, CT 06242. Eastford Public Library will host “Homeschool STEAM Hour” at 10:30 a.m. Please register, as space is limited.

On Tuesday, March 3, from 6:30-8 p.m., Floral Design Night at the Windham-Tolland 4-H Camp lodge. Cost is $65 per person, which gets you a beautiful floral centerpiece to take home and an evening of fun! Proceeds go towards the Jim Logee Campership Fund. Preregistration required. Starting March 3: Ragged Hill Woods Environmental Science Programs at the Windham-Tolland 4-H Camp. For Pre-K to 5th Grade on Wednesdays and Grade 6- 8 students on Tuesdays. March 3-4, Erosion; March 10-11, Baking: Make Your Own Muffin; March 17-18, Rockets; March 24-25, Nesting Animals. All activities are at 4:30 p.m., $20 per session. Eastford Public Library will “Story Time” at 11 a.m. Join us for a story, craft, snack and time of free play. In the afternoon, we will host a Dungeons & Dragons club from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The library is looking for six adventurers to start a quest (ages 11-13). This group will continue to meet on the first Thursday of each month. Registration is a must. Later in the evening, we will also be hosting our first “Trivia Night” at 6 p.m. Grab some friends as Jeremy Barlow tests our knowledge. Please register.

Eastford Public Library hosts an “Author Talk” with multi-talented horror enthusiast Clay Mcleod Chapman at 1 p.m. You won’t want to miss him! Registration is required; space is limited.

Eastford Public Library hosts a “Gardening Presentation on Native Plants” at 6 p.m. This will be led by Benjamin Snow of Wilder Landscaping LLC. Please register.

Eastford Public Library hosts “The Page Turners” our new book club at 1 p.m. We will be discussing the memoir “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Coast Trail” by Cheryl Strayed. If interested, books are on display and available for check out.
