Kids Fun Run Highlights 'Heart of Eastford 5K' Experience

EASTFORD — As a supplement to the Heart of Eastford 5K on Saturday, June 6, which itself kicked off Experience Eastford, the Recreation Commission hosted a Kids Fun Run during the 5K. Eight local children sprinted in a brief road race that began at the intersection of Westford Road and John Perry Road, then turned around at the intersection of John Perry Road and Church Road, and then ended at the starting line. The entry fee was a donation to the Eastford Food Pantry or a local animal shelter. The eight racers were Hope McGurl, Emmett McGurl, Levi McGurl, Elena DeGostin, Roman Burgess, Cora Cote, Aurora Kneeland, and Cal Cote.
