Town Roads Get Facelift Thanks to Clean-Up Event
EASTFORD — More than 30 volunteers gathered on Sunday, April 12, to clean up the streets of Eastford, traversing nearly 17 combined miles of roadway to remove trash, in an effort to beautify the town. Volunteers met at the Eastford Elementary School and Town Office Building parking lot at 12:30 p.m. for a hot dog lunch, followed by road work, which ended at around 3 p.m., where volunteers returned to the parking lot for ice cream. The event was jointly spearheaded by Eastford Baptist Church and the Congregational Church of Eastford.
